針對世新大學一中承諾書引發爭議，國民黨文傳會6日上午召開記者會，以電話方式邀請世新大學學生會會長陳文特價越發表意見，陳文越在電話中表示，世新大學所有的授課大綱與內容都是通過校方三級三審及教育部核示，學生會對於政治黑手惡意操作假議題介入校園，攻擊世新大學感到遺憾。
世新大學終身教育學院2016年12月20日簽署研修承諾書，邀請11位陸生今年2到6月來台上課，書中保證課程內容不涉及任何政治敏感活動，且不從事任何有關一中一台、兩個中國、台灣獨立等方面活動。教育部長潘文忠表示，已違反兩岸人民關係條例。
陳文越表示，世新大學所有的授課大綱與內容，都是通過校方三級三審及教育部核示，在非政治相關的課程中不涉及敏感政治議題，讓學術歸學術、政治歸政治，這份合約也只是針對有需求的陸生提供的重申政治不涉入校園的文件，這和世新大學承不承認「一中原則」完全是兩碼子事。
陳文越說，目前事件尚未釐清，一中承諾書一詞已混淆社會大眾視聽，是惡意攻擊並亂扣世新大學帽子，不論校方的政治立場為何，議題能被討論非常好，但不希望理性討論淪成政治口水戰，別讓神聖的校園學習環境成了政治角力的戰場。

民進黨再次上台執政，「綠色台商」議題再度端上檯面，台商指出，相較於2000年民進黨第一次執政時期，台商們早已低調許多，不會公開挺綠，現在經營環境競爭激烈，台商多是在商言商，不會和大陸政府唱反調，看到台塑在越南的例子，台商也不會被民進黨政府綁架，附和新南向政策。
2000年民進黨第一次執政時期，阿扁的國政顧問團中就有不少的大企業家，不過到了後來一些長期支持民進黨的企業卻公開與陳水扁決裂，如長榮集團創辦人張榮發、奇美集團創辦人許文龍等，在台商圈中引起巨大迴響。
但此次不少企業家早早就和小英政府劃清界線，9月時，親民黨推薦出任海基會董事的大陸深圳台協會長陳合泰，放棄接任海基會董事職務，就是怕被認為是迎合執政黨；而更重量級的台積電董事長張忠謀、巨大機械前董事長劉金標，也婉拒出任蔡政府資政的邀請。
「海霸王事件」則是大陸對台商劃清立場的第一槍，大陸國台辦12月在河南鄭州舉辦「2016年全國台協會長座談會」前，傳出和蔡英文家族有交情的海霸王集團在大陸販售標示不實的產品「舊帳」被翻出來，又傳出被查稅，時間點敏感，海霸王集團因此在媒體刊登聲明：「堅定支持兩岸同屬一個中國，和平雙贏的心志從未動搖。」
一位台商指出，多數台商在商言商，早已認知大陸對「一個中國」的政治立場不會動搖，且大陸經濟已今非昔比，對台商投資需求，不比8年前，被貼上「綠色台商」或「綠色藝人」標籤，絕對不利在大陸發展。
因此台商就算有不同看法，也會隱晦立場，迴避敏感的兩岸政治議題，不會輕易表達其政治立場、「統獨」傾向。毋庸諱言，確有些少數台商一方面在大陸發展，甚至大賺其錢，另一方面出錢出力支持「台獨」，但多數台商也不會接受這些「綠色台商」的作法和言行。
雖然台商在大陸面臨成本上漲等經營壓力，但民進黨政府上台後高喊「新南向」政策，卻無力保障台商在東南亞的投資權益，例如台塑集團在越南的慘痛遭遇，不少台商看在眼中，心中有數，相較之下，還是繼續在大陸經營事業、拓展市場版圖，或者結合大陸「一帶一路」前進東南亞、南亞，要來得可靠一點。
當然大陸也仍會採取一手硬一手軟策略，對於傳言大陸將針對「綠色台商」的投資經營進行「差別待遇」，國台辦發言人馬曉光公開否認這項傳言，並強調今年還將頒布多項優惠政策，助台商降低生產成本和賦稅。
